“You can’t make me sell. I’m here to stay. Take your shitty attitude and sulk over it somewhere else.” I raise my hand to poke him in the chest, but he grabs my wrist and pulls me tight against him.
His eyes light with fire and determination. His anger matches mine, but I sure as hell won’t let him intimidate me. We’re so close we share air, and the heat of his bare skin sears through the thin fabric of my concert t-shirt.
“Little girl, in my world, people get punished for talking shit to me and touching me without permission. I’ll let you off the hook this time. But do it again, and there will be consequences. You’ll show me respect.”
“I don’t know who the hell you think you are, but you’re not my boss, preacher, parent, or anyone deserving of my respect. You’re just some asshole who thinks he’s able to control everyone around him.” I refuse to back down. “I have news for you, buddy. It’s not working on me.”
Dom grabs a handful of my still wet hair at the nape and forces my head up with a sharp tug. Pain brings a gasp, which he takes advantage of when he bends down and smashes his lips to mine. Sparks of electricity race through my body as his tongue sweeps in, conquering my senses. Again, I find myself succumbing, moaning and leaning into him. He bears my weight, and I can feel the smile as he bites and sucks at my lower lip.
Abruptly breaking our kiss, he thrusts me away and grins like a maniac. “Don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
BLURB:
I often wonder why some people have all the luck while others have none.
I found out the hard way that I was in the second category.
When my husband dies of an overdose while banging my best friend, a long list of unfortunate events unravels before me.
I believed I was leaving behind all the devastation that tore my world to shreds. I was wrong.
When my beloved uncle left me a vast inheritance, it came just in time to help me make my escape. But nowhere in the paperwork did it mention anything about inheriting his enemies, too.
I’ve caught the eye of more than one local man, but I’m no longer interested in being tied down.
Little do they know, change is inevitable. These men will have to stay out of my way or learn to reap what they sow.

Heavy breathing comes over the line, then Dom’s strong, angry sounding voice says, “Who the hell were you just fucking?”
“How the fuck do you know what I’m doing?”
When he stays quiet, a repeat of Jax and me moaning in pleasure comes over the phone. My face heats up in embarrassment. The sound of a door opening and closing resounds in the background. I hear Eli say, “Hit slow-mo. This part is good.”
“If you’ve got video, you know who I was having sex with. Perv.”
“I can’t see him because of the angle.” I hear a thud and Eli groans. “Eli thinks it’s funny not to tell me,” Dom says. “So you’d better spill, Nem,”
“Fine, you wanna know? I gave your newest member a better fuck than that skank Rachelle could ever give you. Now screw off.”
BLURB:
I often wonder why nice guys finish last while scum wins the race of life.
I try to be a good person, a loving mother, an understanding partner. I did everything I was supposed to do.
But maybe selfishness overcame me.
I’m living on my family’s farm with my amazing daughter. There are wonderful men in my life, and I get to do what I love every day.
Until I woke up in pain, my world crumbling around me.
I despise being weak, hate needing to lean on anyone. And I told myself I would never be that helpless woman again.
Those asshole bikers with their godlike superiority weren’t responsible for the crimes I laid at their feet. But they did too much damage to forgive or forget their indiscretions.
Dare I offer amnesty to those who have harmed me in the past?
Am I strong enough to survive if they turn on me a second time?

“It’s the middle of the night. Cassie needs to get back to sleep.”
Neelam follows along behind Eli, who keeps going. My daughter giggles at me over his shoulder, a twinkle in her eyes.
“If Cassie wants to bake a cake with me, we’re gonna do it,” Eli says.
I trail after them, shaking my head at Eli’s craziness.
Ah, fuck it. If it keeps a smile on my daughter’s face, I’ll bake a damn cake in my nightgown.
Eli sets Cassie down on the counter and grabs a tea towel from the drawer. He’s been here enough that he knows where things belong. “Arms up, short stuff.” He wraps the towel around her and ties it in the back. “There, now you won’t get your jammies dirty.”
“You need one too, Eli,” Cassie says from her perch.
“Of course I do. Thanks for reminding me.”
He takes another towel out and makes a big show of trying to tie it around his middle. When that doesn’t work, he ends up tying it around his neck, so it acts like a giant bib. Cassie giggles at his antics.
“Okay. We need flour and milk and eggs.” Cassie taps her chin again. “And chocolate.”
Eli dances to the fridge and brings back the ingredients, placing them on the counter beside Cassie with a flourish.
“And a bowl, Eli,” Cassie says around her giggles.
“Flour in the pantry? Anything else we need, short stuff?”
“I forget. Mommy, do we need chocolate chips?”
“If it was up to Cassie,” I bop her on the nose lightly, “we’d put chocolate chips in everything, but what the heck, why not.”
“Catch mom.”
Eli tosses me a bag of chocolate goodness, which I snatch out of the air and add to the growing pile. I grab a glass bowl from a bottom cupboard.
Cassie claps her hands. “Don’t forget the mixer.” She looks toward Eli. “Will you help me use it? I’m not ‘lowed on my own.”
Eli and I gather the rest of the ingredients and tools we’ll need. The two troublemakers get to work. Eli over pours the milk. I clean up the spill. Cassie drops eggshells in the bowl. I fish them out. Eli “accidentally” dumped in an entire bag of chocolate chips in the bowl. Then he thought cocoa would taste good and tried a teaspoon. The puckered look on his face had both Cassie and I laughing our butts off.
“What the shit? I thought this was chocolate. This tastes nasty,” he says with his nose scrunched up in distaste.
“It’s not meant to be eaten dry,” I say once my laughter has stopped.
A sleepy Jax walks into the kitchen, rubbing his eyes. “What in the world are you doing awake at this hour?”
“I’m baking a cake to cheer up Eli and Dom,” Cassie says proudly. “Wanna help?”
“How about I watch,” Jax suggests. “It looks like you guys have it covered.”
“Party pooper,” Eli says. “You’re gonna miss the best part. Ready, Cassie?” Eli holds the mixer for Cassie to grab. His hand holds the back of the mixer. “Okay, fingers clear!”
And he turns it on high. Batter splatters everywhere before he turns it down. Cassie is killing herself laughing. Eli doesn’t let it phase him. He just hums away, helping Cassie move the mixer through the batter. After a few minutes, he shuts it off. I’m wiping up gobs of batter. Jax takes pity on me and grabs a cloth to help.
When the cake is finally in the oven, Eli lifts Cassie off the counter and hugs her to him. “Thanks for letting me help. That was just what I needed.”
She beams up at him, proud as a peacock. “Wait till you taste it!”
BLURB:
I often wonder why there is so much evil in this world and why more than my fair share comes knocking at my door.
I’m forced to become someone I never knew I could be, but no one harms my family.
I’m lucky to have an entire motorcycle club, willing to do whatever it takes to help me destroy my enemies and I’m not afraid to let the Dragon Drillers do their worst.
Gone is the helpless damsel I used to be and if the men in my life can’t accept that…well, that is a them problem.
