I’m Evelyn Grayson and if you’d told me by the time I was 23, I’d have lost both my parents in a mysterious accident, moved in with the coolest Aunt ever, lived in a magical town, and I was a witch, I would have said you were crazy. Funny thing is, you’d be right.
Camille Stenson, the grumpiest woman in Saltwater Cove is set on making this year’s Halloween celebrations difficult for everyone, but when she turns up dead and my best friend is on the suspect list, I have no choice but to find out whodunit and clear her name.
Amongst the pumpkin carving, abandoned houses, and apple bobbing, it soon becomes apparent dark magic is at play and I must use all my newfound witches’ abilities to find the killer before another spell is cast.
Step into Evelyn Grayson’s magical world in the first book of the Melting Pot Café series, a fun and flirty romantic paranormal cozy mystery where the spells are flowing, and the adventure is just beginning.
If you like witty witches, cheeky talking cats, and magical murder mysteries, then you’ll love Polly Holmes’ light-hearted Melting Pot Café series.

KATIE'S REVIEW:
Evelyn Grayson is back in town, working with her Aunt Edie in the Melting Pot Cafe. She is struggling with her direction in life and bringing all her friends back together in one small town. The only thing is she gets the hots for her old friend and I was super excited to see how that played out.
Halloween is only a few days, so Evelyn is trying to get the Melting Pot Cafe together for the big day. However, when murder happens and her best friend gets blamed, she is on the mission of finding the true culprit.
Polly Holmes does a great job creating a world you can fall in love with. The descriptions of the Melting Pot Cafe and the town make me wish I was there in person. She knows how to have fun between her characters’ banter with each other and makes it so interesting with the interactions you eat up every world.
There were two love interests in the book that I was rooting for between the Detective and Aunt Edie. Then the triangle between Evelyn and her best friend, along with the new guy in town. Polly strings you along, feeding you bread crumbs until you realize that book one is done and if you want to resolve the storyline between lovers, read further in the series. Didn’t really upset me though because she tied up all the other loose ends in the story, making it a good ending to drag you to the next book in the series.
I have added the entire list on my TBR list on Amazon. Looking forward to reading more of Polly Holmes’ books. If I had to give this book a rate out of five stars, it would have to be 5/5. Highly recommend to readers that want a page turner, witches, and some fun mysteries with a little of love interest mixed in.
